The main villa accommodates up to eight guests in a double en-suite master bedroom (Wewal) and two en-suite triple family suites (Katayam and Raenda). Raenda has an outside “Jungle” bathroom.
Wewal, the Sinhala word for cane, is our master bedroom. A large four-poster bed is the centrepiece of this airy double suite that sleeps either a couple or a single guest. Teak-shuttered doors open to a rustic terracotta and ceramic bathroom with power shower. Like all our bedrooms, Wewal has ceiling fans and air conditioning as well as plenty of storage space.
These are both family suites each sleeping three guests. Katayam has a large four poster double in the principal room with a single four poster in an interconnecting studio room. The suite has a rustic terracotta and ceramic bathroom with a power shower.
Raenda has a large four poster double bed and with a mezzanine sleeping space above that can accommodate a further guest in a large single. Raenda has an outside “Jungle” bathroom with both a shower and a huge bathtub for bathing under the stars.
Ceiling fans and air-conditioning cool the rooms.
Please note: All beds are draped with large, white mosquito nets.
The main villa has its own spacious living room with deep sofas, and a 55″ “smart” TV along with a small library of inspirational books and information on Sri Lanka. All the rooms in the main villa are furnished with cool terrazzo floors, colonial furniture, local carvings and scatter cushions.
Outside, a 130ft terracotta-tiled and plant-filled veranda is hung with hammocks and filled with local crafts and antique tea planters’ chairs for you to relax into. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy the stunning views afforded by the villa’s hilltop position, as paddy fields and lush jungle spread out below.
